Will home prices drop in Saskatoon if I wait?

There is no way to guarantee prices will drop if you wait, and current conditions point the other way. Saskatchewan REALTORS Association data has the Saskatoon benchmark at $444,700, with the city sitting at 1.63 months of supply, tight enough to favour sellers rather than signal a coming drop.

Waiting on a hope that prices fall also carries a real cost most people do not count: if you are also planning to buy, a lower sale price on your current home would likely come with a lower price on your next one too, so the wait does not necessarily help you the way it seems to.

New listings are up 12.3 percent year over year, which adds more choice for buyers without yet showing up as a price decline in the sales data. That could shift the balance later, but nothing in the current numbers points to it having happened yet.
