What is the tradeoff between speed and price?

Selling faster in Saskatoon usually means accepting a lower price than a longer, more patient listing might achieve, since more buyers see and bid on a home that sits longer. At 1.63 months of supply, per the Saskatchewan REALTORS Association, well-priced homes move at a healthy pace, so the tradeoff is smaller than in a slower market.

A seller who needs to close on a tight timeline, for a job relocation, a health need or an estate deadline, typically prices at or slightly below the comparable range to attract more than one offer quickly, trading some top-end price for certainty and speed. A seller with no deadline can hold for a stronger offer, at the cost of carrying the home, the mortgage, taxes and insurance, for longer.

Neither approach is wrong. It depends on whether the cost of extra time, carrying costs, stress, a second move, is larger or smaller than the price gap you would give up by moving faster.
