Nutana is Saskatoon's oldest neighbourhood, on the east bank of the river, with character homes from the early 1900s along and around Broadway Avenue. Its age is what generates cost, not an association: older mechanical systems, aging sewer connections and heritage-era construction tend to need more upkeep than a newer build elsewhere in the city.
The exception is a condominium. If a specific Nutana property is a condo rather than a freehold house, its condominium corporation does charge a monthly fee under The Condominium Property Act, covering shared building costs, and that fee is separate from and in addition to property tax.
