Nearby property owners are notified directly and can speak at the council or committee meeting where the application is decided.
That process is set out in The Planning and Development Act, 2007, the same law that governs any rezoning or development permit application in Saskatoon, whether the applicant is proposing a data centre, a warehouse or anything else. There is no separate legal mechanism for a single high-profile project to get its own public pause.
