So there is nothing to check on year to year beyond the normal budget calendar: council debates spending in the fall, the mill rate for the following year is set from that process, and the notice reflecting it arrives in the new year.
The one number that does not change from year to year is the 80 percent residential percentage of value, the province-wide reduction applied to every assessed home before the mill rate lands on it.
