How does Forest Grove compare to nearby neighborhoods?

Forest Grove is a newer, family-oriented suburb in Saskatoon's edge, and the City of Saskatoon's building permit records show it comparing to its neighbours mainly on age of housing stock, lot size and distance to schools rather than on price alone. Newer construction there generally means lower immediate maintenance costs than in the city's older, more established areas.

Against an inner-city neighbourhood, Forest Grove trades walkability and mature trees for larger lots, modern floor plans and fewer near-term big-ticket repairs, since a roof, furnace or electrical panel over 20 years old is a cost an older neighbourhood carries more often.

Against another new suburb, the comparison comes down to specific amenities: proximity to schools, parks and retail, plus how built-out the surrounding area already is, since a neighbourhood still under construction can mean ongoing noise and changing streetscapes for a few more years.

Whichever comparison matters to you, the number that counts is what comparable sold houses actually brought, not a general neighbourhood reputation. Get your hand-reviewed valuation from Joel Dyck.
