Does Saskatoon accept VA home loans?

No. A VA home loan is issued and guaranteed by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, which has no jurisdiction in Canada, so no lender in Saskatoon offers one under that name, or under any equivalent name, to any buyer regardless of military service or citizenship.

Every buyer here, veteran or not, qualifies through a standard Canadian mortgage, with CMHC, Sagen or Canada Guaranty insurance required whenever the down payment is under 20 percent. There is no zero-down or no-insurance carve-out for military service.

Members and veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces do have access to relocation support through the Canadian Armed Forces relocation program when posted to Saskatoon, which can help with moving and transition costs, but it operates separately from mortgage qualification and does not replace CMHC, Sagen or Canada Guaranty insurance.

A mortgage broker can confirm your actual approved range under the Canadian rules before you start looking. Get your hand-reviewed valuation from Joel Dyck.
