Are foreclosures rising in Saskatoon?

There is no separately published, real-time count of Saskatoon foreclosures the way there is for sales and listings; a power of sale or foreclosure property simply shows up as a regular listing in the Saskatchewan REALTORS Association's shared data rather than in its own flagged category, which makes a citywide rising or falling claim hard to verify.

What the published numbers do show is a market that looks the opposite of distressed: months of supply at 1.63 and sales running 6.6 percent above the 10 year average, both signs of steady demand rather than a glut of forced sales.

A foreclosure in Saskatchewan is also a lender-initiated court process through Court of King's Bench, not an automatic outcome of a missed payment, so individual hardship cases can exist without producing a visible market-wide trend either way.

If you are worried about a specific property, the safer question is what that house is actually worth today. Get your hand-reviewed valuation from Joel Dyck.
